In this role, you will contribute to our multidisciplinary drug discovery teams in human pharma across all phases of research, from hit finding to candidate delivery. As an experienced medicinal chemist with a proven track-record in drug discovery, you will drive research teams in an international environment fostering team science and empowerment.

Tasks & responsibilities
In your new role, you are responsible for the successful delivery of new clinical candidates by managing an interdisciplinary, partially global project team.
You evaluate complex data sets to generate structure-activity relationships and hypotheses for optimization.
You design biologically active compounds, prioritize target compounds and plan as well as execute their synthesis.
Moreover, you effectively manage a medicinal chemistry laboratory with several research associates.
You discuss, present, and publish research results internally and externally.
PhD degree in preparative organic chemistry, ideally complemented by postdoctoral / professional experience abroad
Several years of experience as a medicinal chemist in the pharmaceutical industry as well as successful contributions towards the achievement of project milestones
Solid leadership skills including demonstrated responsibilities in the interaction with other R&D disciplines
Comprehensive and state of the art knowledge in modern synthetic methodologies and medicinal chemistry
Solid knowledge of partner disciplines related to drug discovery (e.g. pharmacology, ADMET, patents, etc.)
Proficient oral and written communication skills in English and willingness to adopt a basic command of German
