Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting for an Assistant Finance Manager to join our team in Germany (Kaiserslautern) to support the Europe Finance Manager looking after the reporting of the business operations in Germany, Belgium, The Netherlands, and Taiwan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring the integrity of the underlying accounting records in Germany, Belgium and The Netherlands
  • Liaise with local tax advisors in Germany/Belgium/Netherlands and Taiwan related to Payroll, investigating any discrepancies identified within the process
  • Liaise with Local tax advisors and Group Tax on Vat issues in Europe and Taiwan
  • Working with operations to identify trigger points where tax input is needed and work with Group tax to find the most compliant and cost-effective solution
  • Ensure that external governance compliance is maintained for legal filing requirements
  • Preparation of Statutory accounts using German GAAP, from IFRS reports
  • Supporting the European Finance Manager on Governance and other financial needs as required


Skills / Qualifications

  • Professionally qualified with significant experience in a similar role
  • Proficient user of Excel and other MS office applications
  • Good Knowledge of German Tax systems
  • Experience of preparing German Statutory Accounts
  • Experience of preparing and supporting payroll processes

Anticipated working Hours would be a minimum of 32 hours per week.
