Financial Analyst

The Financial Analyst will be responsible for driving commercial decision making through the provision and interpretation of commercial data and insightful financial reporting and analysis into performance across the DACH market's sale, margin, cost and operating profit. You will be part of the international finance team with close ties to the headquarters in the UK.

What you will enjoy doing to be successful in this role:

Reporting/ Planning

Monitor performance against budgets and forecasts. Provide accurate and realistic commentary on performance against agreed criteria, including comprehensive analyses of all risks, understanding root cause for key variances and driving recommendations to improve performance.
Responsible for cost budget and forecasting process for DACH including creating the forecast, loading into respective reporting tools, build assumptions and reasoning, liaison with other functions in finance to ensure alignment in numbers.
Produce ad-hoc reports as necessary to enable the communication of financial performance with recommendations and actions.
Support the finance team in meeting Group submission deadlines

Decision Support

Support the Market Leadership Team in the provision of financial insight into sales, margin, discounting, pricing, customer and profitability
Pro-actively drive the market teams to use the information and analysis for effective decision-making.
Manage an appropriate performance metrics framework for the market.
Focal point for performance management (covering areas such as sales, gross margin management, customer commercial terms and operating costs).
Develop and maintain effective relationships with relevant functional team colleagues as well as the Market's management and wider teams.
Find new and innovative ways to present data to ensure that the business fully understands the trends, issues and opportunities.
Recognise and escalate potential risks and issues in a timely manner

Projects

Provide Finance support to projects, programmes or other activities as required
Works with wider Finance team to develop and use common approaches, leveraging the global single data input model
Link with the wider EMEA Finance team to collaborate in specific projects or sharing of best practice

Functional leadership and team management

Develop a culture of continuous improvement
Be an effective team member within the finance team
Manage own development proactively and demonstrate role model behaviour

What you will bring:

Essential:

Master degree in Economics/ Business administration with a focus on Finance or comparable specialist training
At least 2-3 years of Controlling/ Finance experience preferable with a focus on commercial finance
Able to build effective working relationships across all hierarchical levels, ideally within a matrix-based structure.
Experience of effective communication of key financial information to management and wider teams.
Analytical capability with a high level of commercial awareness,
Ability to present complex issues in a structured manner
Working experience with MS-Office; Expert knowledge on MS Excel
Independent, structured way of working (solution- and result-oriented approach), personable and enthusiastic
Strong communication skills and team spirit
Very good knowledge of spoken and written German and English

Desirable:

Experience with Power BI, SAP and/or Business Objects.
Prior experience in B2B services and e xposure to a digitally enabled business.
Background in an international organisation, able to demonstrate cultural awareness and appreciation
