Job description

WHAT YOU'LL DO

As a dynamic, process-oriented Financial Accountant, you'll support our Finance Team and act as a competent contact person for all matters dealing with our legal entity accounting.

You will be responsible for preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual accounts per Germany's HGB and US-GAAP. In addition, you will manage the general ledger, including ongoing account reconciliation and clearing in terms of content. Thanks to your pronounced process orientation, performing deviation analyses and intercompany reconciliations is a snap for you. You independently prepare advance sales tax returns as well as the declaration and are responsible for the monthly determination of other accruals.

Your strong service orientation will help you support our internal customers as a business partner on all matters related to accounting, whereby you'll also serve as the interface to our Controlling department, including on the international level. Furthermore, you'll prepare for yearly audits and serve as a contact person for our external clients (auditors and tax consultants). You're open to taking on new topics and special tasks, such as the implementation of new tax and trade regulations or the continuous development of accounting processes and the tools used to perform them.

YOU'RE GOOD AT
  • You enjoy working with numbers, are data- and process-oriented, and like to get to the bottom of things.
  • You impress with your structured and independent way of working and are happy to take on responsibility.
  • Your openness to new topics and your quick grasp of new ideas aids you in rapidly advancing projects in a hands-on way.
  • You are a strong, committed performer and enjoy working in a team.

YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)
  • You have either successfully completed an economics degree with a focus on taxes and accounting or training as an (international) accountant.

  • You have several years of relevant professional experience in the fields of accounting and financial statement preparation according to Germany's HGB. Ideally, you are also highly familiar with VAT law and fixed asset accounting and knowledgeable about IFRS/US-GAAP.

  • You are highly interested in applications such as SAP BusinessObjects, Alteryx Designer, and Tableau.

  • You're proficient in the MS Office suite.

  • Your written and spoken German and English is excellent.

YOU'LL WORK WITH

You'll be part of a five-member team and work together closely with colleagues (in both Finance and other departments) across our multiple offices in Germany, particularly Düsseldorf, Munich, and Berlin. But BCG's global span will also mean international interfaces, such as with the USA. Your manager will assist you in familiarizing yourself with and developing further within the company, and you will also always be able to draw upon the experience of your peers.
