For our paper mill Rhein Papier GmbH in Hürth, we are now looking for a

Manager Business HR (m/f/d)

To enable business success, UPM's Human Resources function proactively influences development of needed capabilities and culture. We are divided into Business HR, Group HR and HR Services, but we work as one HR. The Manager Business HR acts as the strategic HR partner for the Hürth mill. You will be a member of the mill management team. Your role also includes support of UPM persons located in Hürth mill.

What you'll do

• Responsible contact person and consultant for managers and employees in all personnel-related matters, and labor law issues as well as change processes to achieve business goals
• Responsible for providing optimal service and tailor-made solutions for our internal customers
• Utilize defined HR processes and systems at the location
• Execute a wide range of tasks including personnel planning and procurement, personnel support, implementation of disciplinary measures, and ensuring continuous personnel development
• Function as a competent and constructive discussion partner for managers and employees as well as contact and negotiation partner for the works council
• Support the Management team in implementing the strategies and goals
• Participate in regional and global projects, be a member of the regional HR network Germany/Austria

Who you are

• Completed studies - preferably in the field of human resources
• Several years of professional experience in practical HR work including consultancy of managers, ideally in multiple companies
• Very good knowledge of labor, tax and social security laws as well as of personnel development and recruitment
• Enjoy working with people and exhibit an open and constructive way of communication
• Assertive with an ability to address critical topics in an appropriate manner
• Independent and structured in your ways of working as well as solution-oriented
• Excellent knowledge of German and confident use of the English language, both spoken and written
• Process-oriented working style, IT affinity and very good knowledge of MS Office applications
• Highly resilient, flexible, and mobile, especially when supporting other locations

Additional information

Since the scope of activities will vary due to the assumption of project tasks and the support of the management at other UPM locations, the position could be set up as either a part-time or full-time position.

This role reports to the Director Business HR at UPM's Dörpen location. There is a competent team available for induction and as a sparring partner.
