The role?
A permanent opportunity has arisen for a Lead Technician to join our busy workshop at our Aberdeen office. This role's over all function will be to manage and provide professional leadership and direction to technicians in the department. This is a hands on role where you will be expected to support the department ensuring all aspects of equipment are repaired / serviced in an efficient and productive manner and provide support to the Workshop Supervisor, to operate an effective and efficient high quality workshop. The role will be required to assist technicians with ensuring jobs are completed on time and to a high standard, this reducing the amount of time spent reworking jobs, cutting the costs of rework and improving client satisfaction. You will be expected to answer where possible all questions the technicians have regarding jobs. Other duties and responsibilities will include; to review planning work with supervisor, to engage the workforce with Lean 5S, holding regular tool box talks and time out for safety briefings, responsible for the development and infrastructure of the workshop and ensuring the workshop housekeeping is of a high level at all times.

You are?
To be successful for this position you must be able to demonstrable previous experience of leading teams of people as well as working on hydraulic systems from assembling, maintaining and commissioning with a sound knowledge of marine and industrial sector. You are expected to have the ability to carry out fault finding on hydraulic systems and provide detailed reports with all findings as well as the ability to read hydraulic schematics and carry out pressure testing. You must be familiar with using equipment including procedures and maintenance management programs. Ideally you will have previous experience of hydraulics / mechanical equipment for the oil and gas industry. Due to the level of interaction that will be expected with the Technicians it is vital you hold strong communication and organisational skills and be able to provide technical leadership on specific projects. You must be proficient in the use of Microsoft packages. Additionally, you will have a high emphasis on health and safety in the work place and be confident enough to intervene to highlight or 'stop the job' in response to poorly-managed hazards or required control measures.
