JOB DESCRIPTION

Our client is looking for a Hydrocarbon Accountant for a 6 month contract position, located in Aberdeen.

ROLE

Our client have a vacancy for a Hydrocarbon Accountant / EnergySys Migration Project Developer on a 6 month contract basis. This role has two significantly different elements, as outlined below. It is not expected that applicants can satisfy both elements fully, although this would be advantageous. The exact balance of the role between these two areas will be determined by the experience and skills of the successful candidate, with the existing team providing the necessary balance of activities.

Our client operate an Agile working policy as well as a 9 day fortnight that all contractors are eligible to participate in.

Timely and accurate operation of our client's allocation and emissions calculation systems, to ensure a fair and accurate hydrocarbon allocation to all stakeholders, and to deliver all required hydrocarbon production, ETS, and EEMS reports in line with contractual and Regulatory requirements.

The job holder is expected to use their experience and knowledge resolve and overcome day-to-day allocation issues, with support from Senior Hydrocarbon Accountant as required. The job holder will be expected to apply existing processes and procedures, with limited supervision, and to identify and contribute to improvements in such processes and procedures.

EnergySys Migration Project Developer. Our client are currently in the process of migrating the allocation system from the existing EC system to EnergySys, which is used for all other client platforms and fields.

The job holder would be expected to play a significant role in the design, configuration and implementation of the allocation function in the client's EnergySys application. The job holder would work with the Hydrocarbon Allocation Manager and the team to ensure the entire function can be transferred smoothly over to EnergySys

RESPONSIBILITIES

Hydrocarbon Accountant:

• Ensure daily hydrocarbon allocation processes are performed in a timely manner, review input data, and review/validate the allocation outputs to ensure accuracy.
• Generate and maintain the monthly allocation validation checks to ensure accurate and auditable data processing throughout the allocation and reporting process.
• Generate and issue HCA production reporting to all internal and external stakeholders on a Daily, Weekly & Monthly basis to meet all contractual and Regulatory reporting requirements.
• HCA focal point with Production Engineers to ensure well test data is up to date, to enable accurate well allocation reports on a daily/monthly basis.
• HCA focal point with Production Chemists to review and validate sample analysis results.
• Perform monthly and annual CO2 emissions calculations and reporting. Provide HCA support to Environmental Team as required throughout year. Interfaces with Verifier as required to detail process data, assumptions and calculations used to arrive at final ETS submission.
• Application and management of the Flare Consent process to ensure valid and achievable flare consents and working with all relevant areas of the business to maintain operations within consent.
• Ensure all relevant business areas are working on the most up to date information, through routine reporting and provision of additional specific allocation data queries.
• Provide cover for Hydrocarbon Accountant (FPS & SAGE) or Senior Hydrocarbon Accountant as required from time to time.
• Provide technical allocation support for other client assets as required.

EnergySys Migration Project Developer

• Design and implementation of daily allocation processes, including
• Configuration of measurement data inputs.
• Mapping of inputs into existing daily allocation calculation templates.
• Mapping of allocation data outputs from calculation templates back to EnergySys database.
• Design and implementation of daily allocation reporting tool, to replicate existing reporting function.
• Design and implementation of FPS Secondary allocations.
• Integration of existing Excel-based HYSIS models into EnergySys processes.
• Development of month end procedures, process and reporting tool.
• Migration of FPS stock inventory calculations to EnergySys

JOB DIMENSIONS

• Allocation and accounting of hydrocarbon production from 8 fields (involving 4 Operators), across the 2 Operated assets, with production feeding into both FPS oil system and SAGE gas system.
• Over 150 PRS allocation run each month, with 1000s of data inputs and outputs each day.
• Over 200 allocation reports issued over each month, with monthly assurance procedure covering over 50 separate data consistency checks.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS/TRAINING

Preferred

• Degree or equivalent in a technical/numerate discipline. (Career HCA experience considered as alternative).

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

Essential

• 5+ yrs experience of hydrocarbon accounting, allocation calculations and production reporting.
• General IT skills - Microsoft Office (specifically Excel), basic database queries.
• Numeracy skills with good attention to detail.

Preferred

• Basic knowledge of oil and gas process technologies, including metering systems.
• Experience & knowledge of EnergySys and Energy Components (client's Hydrocarbon Accounting Systems).
• Working knowledge of VBA and database queries.
