Mechanical Engineer (Operations)

Job description

Mechanical Operations Engineer - Aberdeen - £50k - £60k -Jan start - Oil & Gas

Provides daily Mechanical Engineering support to operations team and is the first point of contact for any Mechanical engineering query, equipment breakdown; including investigation of fault, defect resolution, from the Area operations team.
Provide support related to Mechanical Engineering and non-specialist materials & welding issues
Supports delivery of process safety, integrity and environmental performance of the asset

Acts as initiator, coordinator or reviewer for Mechanical Engineering related technical management of change.
Responsible for technical approval of operational procedures, deferrals and Operational Risk Assessments within discipline as appropriate
Participates in asset related risk assessments and longer-term engineering studies e.g. HAZOPs, LOPAs etc. where required
Ensure defined mechanical equipment-class maintenance strategies, procedures, standards and plans are in place, implemented and completed by the asset technicians/vendors and any failures, variations and amendments are appropriately managed
Ensures asset Mechanical engineering documents are up to date e.g. Isometrics, P&ID's,
Mechanical equipment lists, equipment layout, data sheets etc.
Performs routine Mechanical Engineering calculations that do not require specialist or expert knowledge to support the daily operations of the facility
Support the Anomaly Management Process for pressure systems by attending Anomaly management meetings and providing discipline support where required
