Job description

Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting for an Overhead Accountant with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry to ensure all regional overhead accounting activities within the individual's area of control are completed in an accurate and timely manner, providing quality support to partner with the business to maximise management decision making activities. This involves the provision of timely reporting of financial data internally to business stakeholders including the EMEA Leadership Team, and within the wider finance organisation. Financial reporting will extend to forecasts, budgets, and reporting to regional functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overhead (SGA, Indirect and some Gross margin) accounting and reporting during month end close in Oracle, including calculating and posting accruals, prepayment, cost allocations and advising relevant stakeholders of their monthly results.
  • Estimated month end flash forecast the week before month end close, and sense check of results before close.
  • Ensuring overheads are reported correctly in Hyperion, to align with Group functions and cost type classifications.
  • Ensuring the correct calculation and reporting of IFRS16 entries, including P&L, balance sheet and cashflow impacts.
  • Delivering monthly overhead reporting complete with commentary to the Business and regional functional Vice Presidents.
  • Responsible for the preparation of overhead budgets, rolling forecast and mid-year forecast, with agreement of regional functions in the Business Unit.
  • Approval of balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring sign-off of the completeness and accuracy of reconciliation is completed. This includes working directly with the shared services team on behalf of the business to resolve reconciliation queries
  • Review of fixed assets ensuring assets under construction are approved and accounted correctly, and a half yearly review of full register to determine whether any disposals are required.
  • Coding of overhead invoices in the Accounts Payable system
  • Ensure internal and external audit requests are completed in a timely and proper manner
  • Execution of various ad hoc financial analysis and tasks as and when required within the wider EMEA Reporting team


Skills / Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • Recognised accounting qualification
  • Qualified ICAS / ICAEW / ACCA or equivalent preferred, however will also consider part-qualified applicants or those qualified by experience


Knowledge, skills and experience:
  • Extensive accounting experience
  • Proficient user of Excel
  • Good systems experience of Oracle and Hyperion desirable, but not essential
