Piping Designer

Job description

The role

To produce 2D and 3D piping and mechanical system designs from conceptual or more advanced information using manual and CAD tools and techniques.

Ability to work onsite and to translate site requirements into working designs. Follow developed designs through the fabrication process to sign off and installation of completed designs.

To safely undertake duties within a multidiscipline Engineering Group. Responsible for designing tasks, from initial kick-off to issue of deliverables.

Perform designing support in development and detailing of work scope methodologies including equipment and specialist tooling specification, compiling and reviewing design inputs and functional requirements

Site based duties will include being client and company assigned engineer, responsible for all aspects of work scope implementation in accordance with client and company procedures.

Creation of technical outputs including but not limited to drawings, calculations and procedures

Responsible for providing technical guidance for specified discipline across company business lines as required

Main Responsibilities

Responsible for the delivery of technical work scopes

Responsible for providing innovative designs to solve client needs

To be involved in the testing of unit designs

Assistance with updating and maintenance of drawings and records and be proactive in system improvement initiatives to support Quality Management System

To provide drawings and calculations in support of designs.

Checking of drawings and data

Preparation of bills of materials and purchase requisitions

Performing offshore / site surveys as necessary to acquire input data.

Essential:

Competent in the use of 2D and 2D CAD tools e.g. AutoCAD, Plant 3D, Intergraph, SolidWorks.

Good computer skills and competent with the Microsoft Offfice Suite e.g. Word, Excel etc

HNC in Mechanical/Civil/Structural/Marine/Electrical engineering or similar qualification with relevant experience
