Rotating Machinery Engineer
Job Summary:
Rotating Machinery Engineer is responsible for ensuring that good technical solutions regarding rotating machinery are considered during design in new projects and in modifications of existing installations. This role demands close co-operation with the respective operation team when needed.
The Rotating Machinery Engineer shall be familiar with relevant rules, regulations and standards within his/her area of responsibility.
They are responsible for providing technical support to the various departments within the area of responsibility.
Participate in project work for new and/or existing installations for the area of responsibility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure that all activities, for which they are responsible, are carried out in conformance with laws and regulations, contractual requirements and the Client's Management System Manual. In particular, health and safety of personnel, natural and working environment and equipment shall be taken care of.
Perform duties as Technical Authority as defined in AP 810 within area of responsibility.
Develop philosophy documents and specifications.
Perform / evaluate production technical calculations for establishing thermodynamic condition.
Evaluate aerodynamic design.
Participate in root cause failure analysis within area of responsibility.
Evaluate integrity of rotating machinery components.
Specify, follow-up and monitor condition monitoring systems related to rotating machinery, including development long term strategies.
Organize and follow up field measurement campaigns within field-measurements for machine condition.
Develop / evaluate specifications, construction standards and test codes for area of responsibility.
Follow up inspections and acceptance tests during construction and commissioning phase.
Follow up and secure that necessary support and frame agreements are available.
Contribute to an effective workflow and work split with the operational organization and the other technical support disciplines, according to company administrative procedures.
Contribute to experience transfer within the company.
Requirements (Knowledges/Skills/Abilities):
Education:
Technical education to Master of Science level or higher
Work experience:
Minimum of 3 years relevant experience within working area
Other:
English language - fluent written and oral skills
