Job description

Reporting to the Shipping Manager, the role is responsible for accurately controlling and co-ordinating the shipping and manifesting of cargo to all customer locations. The shift pattern for this role is 7 days on/7 days off. Duties include:

* Presenting a positive image of the Company through first class service delivery and customer engagement, building effective relationships across the business.
* Continuously promoting a pro-active HSSEQ culture, ensuring participation and compliance.
* Preparation and management of the load-out list.
* Interrogation of customers' load lists, resolving any anomalies.
* Expediting load list material and co-ordination/manifesting of inbound/outbound cargo.
* Implementing a comprehensive and robust communication (verbal and written) strategy, empowering the team to complete all tasks to the standard required, maximising the most efficient use of resources.
* Liaison between transport/vendors/customer regarding cargo deliveries.
* Being conversant with manifesting systems and dealing with discrepancies.
* Recording accurate and detailed information on computerised systems, and producing documents and reports as required, e.g. Departure Reports, Deck Utilisation etc.
* Acting as a customer focal point for users both onshore and offshore, developing and maintaining strong working relationships, responding quickly and accurately to issues/queries.
* Promoting a positive image of the company through first class service delivery and customer engagement.
* Recording loadlist and manifests in internal and client systems

Minimum Competencies (Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours):
* Excellent customer relationship management with the ability to influence, negotiate and challenge.
* Accustomed to working effectively in a fast-paced environment, adapting to changing workloads and priorities, where high standards are not compromised under pressure.
* Effective people skills and a strong communicator, both verbally and in writing.

* Ability to work stand-alone, demonstrating initiative and ownership, while a positive contributor to the wider team.
* Highly numeric with a strong attention to detail and excellent planning & organising skills.
* Computer literate with well-developed IT skills across the Microsoft suite.
* Operating knowledge of health & safety regulations and safe working practices.

Desirable Qualifications/Competencies:
* Practical experience of HM Revenue & Customs and moving Dangerous Goods by Sea.
* Knowledge of ASCO operating policies and procedures.
* Knowledge of SAP, WELS, MAXIMO and QMS.
