Salary paying between £35-£45k per annum + bonus scheme, private medical and enhanced holiday allowance

Based in Farnborough - Flexibility to work from home 2 days a week

Electronics Engineer

For over 50 years, our client has provided mission critical systems to detect, measure and analyse radiation to protect people, property and the environment.

Purpose of the Role - The Engineer will be working as part of a multi-disciplined team to achieve project objectives. The purpose of the role is to provide Electronic design and FPGA development in accordance with the product specification.

Key Responsibilities

Electronic and FPGA Design development and integration with other Design specialities, such as mechanical design and software development.
Creating circuit topologies, schematics, PCB layouts, drawings.
Creation of RTL coding, basic and self-checking test benches (VHDL).
Design for manufacture ensuring products are safe, reliable, and meet required industry standards.
Technical Construction File creation for product compliance verification.
Design and implementation of test rigs for design verification and functional testing.
Conducting design evaluations, verifications and proving trials, such as radiation trials.
Generating reports, test specifications and verification procedures, manuals, and master data within the ERP system (Item data, BOMs, Routes).
Participation in Design reviews with internal and external customers.

Other Responsibilities

Incorporating Design Change Requests and performing robust Root Cause Analysis and Lessons Learned.
Liaison with subcontract manufacturers and Quality Assurance providers for design support or certification and qualification purposes.
Providing technical support for internal customers, such as procurement, production, and test departments.
Providing technical support for Sales and the Service team relating to product applications, customer enquiries and fault diagnosis.
Support staff training to ensure there is no single point failures.
Participation in continuous improvement initiatives as necessary.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential

Ideally qualified to a minimum degree level in relevant field (or equivalent experience).
Strong and demonstrable electronics design skills including PCB layout CAD skills, Knowledge of PCBA fabrication process, microprocessor integration, and circuit design.
Good and demonstrable knowledge of EMC Compliance and safety.
Experience of Digital and analogue electronics and FPGA design
Experience of using of VHDL & Xilinx
FPGA test bench generation and simulationDesirable

Experience of using Spice and PADS software.
Experience of conducting hardware qualification testing.
Experience of preparing cost sheets for Sales Enquires.
Experience in Nuclear and High temperature applications
