About the opportunity:
As bp Solutions Rotating Equipment Engineer, you will play a vital role in providing Rotating Equipment Engineering (REE) experience and judgement in service of the Production & Operations sites. You will work within a Flow To Work (FTW) team that supports bp's operating sites across the globe supplying time and knowledge where required to bp's benefit. One of the primary responsibilities will also be to ensure that pragmatic solutions are recommended for management of risk, production efficiency improvement, maintenance, defect elimination and engineering standardisation in support of safe, reliable and compliant operations.
All work will be undertaken with a right first time ethic - do it right do it once in support of bp's drive to improve efficient delivery of work.

In more detail, you will have the exciting opportunity to:
- Provide REE experience to other teams by performing and reviewing complex, or non-routine REE calculations and analyses.
- Provide REE experience to Management of Changes (MoCs) and to brownfield projects and modifications; relevant support activities involving regulatory compliance, deviations from technical practice/specifications, design reviews, procurement support for complex packages, life cycle operability, Category Management and SQM activities.
- Provide REE experience to hazard identification and risk assessment processes (including MoCs, HAZOPs, LOPAs, HAZIDs, Human Factors Analysis, What-Ifs, Vulnerability studies, Bow-ties and Risk Action Plans).
- Provide REE experience in performing incident investigations and defect investigations.
- Provide REE experience to Turnaround (TAR) teams both in the preparation and execution of the TAR.
- Develop and update the technical content of Equipment Strategies based on equipment performance and feed lessons to all operating regions.
- Perform reliability analysis for rotating equipment using surveillance, maintenance and condition monitoring data, and trend performance metrics.
- Have knowledge and deliver critical equipment repair procedures and sparing strategy.
- Provide REE experience in support of critical machinery preservation.
- Work closely in teams with other disciplines especially Instrumentation, Process, Maintenance and Operations and where appropriate take the lead on resolution of complex, multi-discipline technical issues where the dominant component is rotating equipment.
- Record relevant learnings in shared learning systems, incorporate into local activities and share across bp operating site and where applicable escalate high priority lessons.
- Develop good working relationships with the critical rotating equipment vendors to aid delivery of improvements to the operating regions.
- Provide Rotating Equipment technical consultancy to Productions & Operations sites and projects.
About you:
You will bring educational knowledge from having acquired a degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, as well as a Chartered engineering status or evidence of working towards chartership.
It would also be beneficial that you have experience and technical understanding of engineering, maintenance and operation of rotating equipment in oil & gas processing facilities.
Your knowledge of governing codes, industry standards and regulations relevant to rotating equipment, and your proven ability in practical application of engineering standards and practices for rotating equipment are a great combination for long-term success in this role.
