Project Engineer (Electrical)

OVERALL ROLE OBJECTIVE:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for electrical engineering design, project management, procurement, commissioning of electrical / automation systems and utility equipment to the highest industrial and pharmaceutical standards. The focus of the work will be to ensure that processes operate efficiently and safely, and in compliance with regulatory standards.

JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Application of knowledge for electrical engineering systems to manage and develop the specification, design, and installation of electrical systems, including all Low voltage distribution systems associated with process, utility and HVAC equipment, in accordance with Good Engineering Practices and other recognised industry best practice, whilst acting as point of knowledge for Electrical Engineering Compliance and report on changes in legislation, standards, and good practice, through professional and academic contacts, liaison with professional and regulatory bodies and through personal study.

A need for the individual to generate technical reports proposing solutions to existing plant problems or reviewing alternative design schemes for new process equipment/systems, whilst commissioning automation systems such as Building Management Systems, Environmental Monitoring Systems, Process Control and other automation systems across the group, ensuring resolution of all deficiencies.

Specifying and reviewing equipment specification and installations ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements (Low Voltage regulations), with a key need for co-ordination of all issues relating to compliance with, PUWER, Low voltage regulations, including setting up and performing product safety and EMC tests.

A need for the compilation and updating of Standard Operating Procedures relating to activities within the Process Engineering Group as well as assisting in the development of Almac Engineering Services automation and electrical standards and good engineering practices.

GENERAL ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Quality- Ensure GMP is adhered to in all areas of work.

Health and safety- Understand Company's Health & Safety Policy and follow all company HSE procedures. Report all accidents or any unsafe conditions in the work place.

Human Resource Management- Ensure training has been received before undertaking specific duties and that all training is recorded in training records.

Communication- Communicate within your own department to ensure that all relevant information is forwarded to the appropriate personnel on a regular and timely basis. Provide regular updates to your line manager regarding progress on required duties and the status of any projects.
