What it's like to work here

Ashridge Estate

The Ashridge Estate is a 5000-acre estate with ancient woodlands home to over 1000 ancient and veteran trees and rolling chalk hills that are bursting in wildflowers and rare butterflies in the summer. Within the estate you will find the Bridgewater Monument and Pitstone Windmill.

Dunstable Downs and the Bedfordshire sites

The breath-taking landscape and views of Dunstable Downs just a 10-minute drive from Ashridge transport visitors to a different place. Whether is to fly a kite, picnic in the clouds, discover rare and wonderful wildflowers or grab a coffee with a view, Dunstable Downs is key part of this portfolio. In addition to Dunstable Downs, we also look after several smaller countryside sights across Bedfordshire including Totternhoe Knolls, Sharpenhoe Clappers and Sundon Hills.

Shaw's Corner

Tucked away in the village of Ayot St Lawrence, Shaw's Corner, the home of playwright George Bernard Shaw is the jewel in the crown of this portfolio. We offer our visitors a unique and personal insight into the fascinating life of this once a-list celebrity.

What you'll be doing

You will be managing the development and delivery of this portfolio's strategic plan for volunteering and communities alongside the property leadership team. Managing and embedding change whilst widening and deepening our relationships with existing and new audiences.

You will also increase the confidence and capability of others whilst creating a collective, flexible and inclusive environment for existing & future volunteers, communities and partners.
