Job description

We are looking for a unique project management candidate who has experience of overseas procurement and product development.

Our client are a high-end lighting design consultancy. They carry out design and development of complex and high-value lighting, and associated architectural products related to the interior fitout of prestigious buildings. These designs are then manufactured by specialist contractors frequently in Southern Europe or China which specialise in manufacture of these products.

They are looking for a project Manager who can take charge of this process alongside others in the business. The role will involve working with the team to take finished designs through to manufacture and delivery. You will be managing a process, and excellent communication skills will be key. Our client is especially interested in people who have experience of liaising with manufacturers in Turkey or China.

The role requires someone who drives, as occasional visits to client sites and manufacturers may be involved. Occasional, overseas travel may be necessary but most of the work is based from our clients offices in Bedfordshire.

Experience in the lighting design industry would be especially useful, although experience of procurement management of other product manufacture will be suitable.
