Job description

We are currently searching for a Design Manager with a background in fit-out projects to join one of the UK's largest and most successful main contractors. This is a hybrid working role which will be 2/3 days a week from the office and the remaining days from home. Site travel will also be required from time to time.

This role can be tailored to your skill set as in influx of new projects means the team are expanding on a national basis. There are multiple contracts which are in need of design management including schemes such as CatB fitouts, refurbishment frameworks, specialist healthcare fitouts and government department fit outs. Projects are generally valued up to £5m and this role would require you to oversee several at once.

*Design Manager Key Responsibilities: *

* Regular meetings with the production team and ensuring all technical issues are addressed immediately
* Manage and coordinate external consultants
* Liaise with key personnel within the project team in preparation of project costing and design works
* Ensure consultants prepare the detailed design by Employers Requirement and Contractors Proposals
* Manage and review the design development process ensuring value engineering and buildability are considered
* Assist Project Manager in incorporating onto a tracking sheet all internal and external design and cost issues.
* Manage the distribution and production of project workload within the project team and design consultant team

*Key Requirements: *

* 3+ years design management experience working for a main or subcontractor.
* Backgrounds can be from either an architectural or apprenticeship route.
* Experience managing commercial fit-out and refurbishment projects is essential.
* Applicants must be commutable to Warrington and have access to a vehicle to attend site visits.
* A valid CSCS Card is essential.
