KS4 Coordinator of Science

The Shared Learning Trust is working in partnership with Lea Manor High School to deliver STEM excellence for the pillar of Science.

This is an exciting new role based at Lea Manor High School. We are looking to appoint a keen subject specialist to work with the Head of Faculty to lead our drive to raise attainment and achievement at KS4. We are looking for a colleague to contribute to leading the success of the department, being passionate about giving our students the best classroom experiences to enhance their learning; who has the ability to maintain and develop our high standards and to provide support, stretch, and challenge for all our learners, as well as support and leadership for staff. This post is suitable for a practitioner who is keen to enhance their experience by leading a key stage in an innovative department. We are committed to professional development for all staff. As an experienced teacher, you will develop an exciting curriculum that suits every type of learner and have the resolve to make a real difference to the lives of our young people.

Experience Knowledge & Understanding

  • A STEM degree-level qualification and Qualified Teacher Status.
  • Curriculum experience in KS3 and KS4
  • Experience of sustained delivery of outstanding attainment and achievement.
  • Experience of innovation and creativity to engage, enthuse and progress learners.
  • Plan, prepare and deliver outstanding lessons to provide students with the opportunity to achieve their potential.
  • Review and redesign Schemes of Work to include guidance on approaches, interesting activities and resources that help nurture students' understanding and to support staff to develop their expertise.
  • Manage, develop and share resources to enhance teaching of Science including the development and selection of suitably differentiated materials for different student groupings such as students with SEN and students for whom English is an additional language.
