Our client is a global provider of temporary structures and seating for large scale events, delivering market-leading products and services across a range of sectors.

Structural Engineer (Seating)

They are currently looking for a Structural Engineer to join their Seating Team, working on design and build projects such as grandstands or semi-permanent seating structures for e.g. large sporting events.

This role is office based with some home-working available, plus some UK and occasional international travel.

The Structural Engineer (Seating) role will involve the design and development of structural engineering solutions for new and existing products within the Seating division.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
*Production of bespoke and high-quality designs and calculations to develop structural engineering solutions for new and existing products in line with client's requirements.
*Continuous development of technical solutions and engineering integration with other teams within the Group.
*Undertaking of structural inspections and sign offs, provision of inspection reports and preparation of works specifications to remediate defects
*Identification of potential health & safety, design, sustainability and commercial risks on projects and contribution towards their mitigation.
*Liaison with contractors and clients, attending meetings as necessary
*Support to drafting team when needed by producing drawings using CAD
*Monitoring the implementation of design throughout the entire project lifecycle, from initial concepts to visits on site.

To be considered for this role, applicants will need to be qualified to degree level in Civil or Structural Engineering, with membership of the IStructE and with experience in a similar Structural Engineering role working on temporary structures.

Your experience will include some of the following:

Design/calculations using Inventor, Solidworks or Autodesk CAD packages.
Advanced knowledge of applicable structural regulations.
Experience in steel, aluminium and temporary works (scaffolding).
Understanding of wind calculations to BS EN 1991-1-4 and to BS 6399-2.
Experience of using 3D modelling and 2D drafting with the Autodesk package.
Experience with temporary demountable structures (desirable).

*The ability to work under tight deadlines, working flexibly as part of a team as well as independently.
*Attention to detail.
