Bracknell - Child Mental Health Support/Aspiring Councilor

Teaching Assistant at Special School in Oxford for children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties.

This is an great opportunity for a recent graduate looking to further their knowledge in the psychology of Special Needs students or an individual looking to get a head start in the criminal justice system.

The Role:

An intimate specialist school is looking for an individual with a passion for education to support the emotional wellbeing, social skills and mental health of the students within their school. This specialist school provide an alternative educational for those children who struggle either socially or emotionally. This may be anxiety or school refusal due to developmental trauma and adverse childhood experiences. You will be working alongside trained professionals such as Psychologists and Therapists, providing a great opportunity to shadow their work and gain invaluable experience in an educational setting.

This stunning school based in the city of Bracknell provides exceptional education to those most vulnerable, including those with social and emotional difficulties such as anxiety and school refusal due to developmental trauma and adverse childhood experiences, as well as specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia and dyscalculia. Whilst the Teaching Assistant/Mental Health Support Assistant ideally will have a degree in a related field or prior experience working with young people. Many of the children within the school have experienced trauma and will require someone with resilience and a strong open-mind to support their mental health challenges.
