Job description

Aspiring Criminal Justice Officer, Maidenhead, Immediate Start - Education and Training - Aspiring Criminal Justice Officer, Maidenhead, Immediate Start

Start Date: November 2021.

Pay Scale: £70-80.

Position: SEN Teaching Assistant.

This Learning Support Assistant role for students with SEN needs will commence in November and follow the rest of the 2021/22 academic year, if you know your objectives within Special Educational Needs and Psychology, this role will help you achieve your objectives.

CAN you demonstrate the value of an education to a child? Restorative Practice is a way of finding behaviour we want to promote. This SEN Learning Support Assistant role is based on holistic, therapeutic and Restorative practices in a specialist Autistic school in Maidenhead with a mix of students aged 3-16.

Working within autism, you will be required to show great levels of empathy and positive reinforcement. This Learning Support Assistant role is all about knowing your students and finding solutions, not problems to solutions.

Empathy drives connection, sympathy drives disconnection - no one wants your sympathy, your students need pragmatism and solutions in this LSA role. Behaviour is only one aspect of this role and it is only the display of an unmet need. Giving pupils skills, they can use to gain independence, aiming to ensure they do not enter the criminal justice system.

This LSA role in a specialist SEMH and Autistic Provision is all about positive engagement, deploying restorative practices and showing a way of being as well as giving some of your professional self to the students. No significant learning will take place in this role of the relationships are not there.

Restorative Practice, pragmatism and positive reinforcement will be key skills in this LSA role. The role specialises in working with students who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health issues and Wellness concerns. Each student will have very different objectives in and out of school, some will live in supported living when they leave, and some will go to college.

The LSA role will give you experience in safeguarding and assessment of what rehabilitation students require to be empowered back into mainstream education.
