More about the role:

· As part of our Care and Support business area, you will work within our Domestic Abuse 'Access Team'. Offering advice, signposting, providing guidance and support to clients to access the appropriate specialist domestic abuse services within the area and further afield.

· The successful applicant will be part of a multiagency team, facilitating and developing the Family Safeguarding Model within the Contact Advice and Assessment Service (CAAS) at West Berkshire Council's Children Services as well as working within A2Dominion's Domestic Abuse Helpline and Access Team in a joint capacity.

· You will work with agencies from across the sector and be part of multi agency discussions, planning and the delivery of interventions across the CAAS, supporting vulnerable families to be able to access the support they need to live free from abuse.

· There is a strong emphasis on relationship based and strength based practice, and the successful applicant will have the opportunity to be trained in Motivational Interviewing."

· You'll be located in Newbury between both Children's Services and A2Dominion's Domestic Abuse Service as part of the on-site team. Day to day you will,
Respond to Helpline calls, assessing risk levels and agreeing safety plans.

· Accept and process referrals from partner agencies in accordance with relevant procedures,

· Complete risk assessments and obtain & record all necessary information,

· Carry out telephone and face-to-face assessments for people experiencing, or at risk of, domestic abuse to enable them to access relevant services,

· Refer relevant cases to MARAC, IDVA or Safeguarding Agencies following appropriate procedures.

More about you:

· Educated to GCSE level or equivalent in Math & English

· IDVA , Health and Social Care, Criminal/Social Justice (NVQ Level 3) or equivalent desirable
