Battery Storage & Solar Technician
We are searching for an experienced Battery Storage & Solar Technician to work at a number of operational sites within the Midlands and South West regions. You will need to be located near to the M4 / M40 area for easy travel and have a full UK driving licence.
Completive package includes
A negotiable basic salary from £35,000 - £45,000, generous bonus of up to 20%, company pension scheme, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays with salary protection and critical illness cover for extra reassurance. The company vehicle can also be used for personal use if you wish. A smart phone and laptop/tablet will be provided.
The opportunity
The Battery Storage and Solar Technician is a field-based role performing operations and maintenance duties on battery storage plants with solar PV units. The purpose of the role is to ensure the plants achieve outstanding levels of safety, quality and performance at a cost that meets operational budget, as part of an industry-leading team of renewable energy specialists.
The role requires frequent travel to sites within the South West and Midlands areas of England.
The ideal candidate will be a fully qualified electrician with experience operating and maintaining battery plants, with DC and HV electrical competencies. This is a permanent role and will require availability for occasional weekend on-call duties as part of a rota. A generous overtime payment system is also in place.

Key Accountabilities
The responsibilities of the Battery Storage and Solar Technician include:
* Undertake planned inspection and maintenance according to legal, technical, manufacturer and contractual requirements.
* Inspection, testing and maintenance of plant and equipment.
* Undertake electrical system testing, troubleshooting and fault-finding.
* Perform reactive maintenance, fault diagnosis and resolution in a timely manner.
* Troubleshooting and repairs on inverters, filters, HVAC and associated plant equipment.
* Occasionally assist with ground maintenance, cleaning or mechanical work.
* Induct and manage sub-contractors, ensure their safe working and undertake quality checks on their work.
* Keep accurate maintenance records and compile reports.
* Adherence to and management of health and safety requirements at all times while also helping to maintain and improve safety standards across the plants.
* Achieve and maintain Authorised Person status commensurate with training received, experience gained and in line with individual job role requirements.
Knowledge
* Battery storage technology would be beneficial.
* Solar PV technology, HVAC, fire protection, security systems, central inverters are highly desirable.
* Principles of High Voltage operations.
Ideal Experience - Training provided
* Collaborating with equipment vendors to support the diagnosis of faults
* DC and LV installation, fault finding, testing and commissioning
* Working remotely without close supervision
