Job description

Are you an Engineering Manager seeking to start a new permanent position in time for the new year? Have you got a strong background working for Tier 1 Contractors? Looking for an opportunity to grow whilst overseeing rail-oriented projects? If so, you're in luck! Randstad CPE are currently recruiting for the above to work in Reading!

The Engineering Manager will be responsible for the day to day management of internal and external engineering resources to ensure deliverables are completed on time, to budget and in agreement with the project requirements.

About the role:

The role will include working on the contractors multi-disciplined service, covering electrification, power supply, tunnelling and a full range of civil engineering and building capabilities including structures, lineside infrastructure and station enhancements. This is complemented by track and signalling works so will give candidates exposure to a number of sectors.

The company has upcoming work on station refurbishment projects and platform extensions, tunnelling works and bridge launches, so a strong background within rail is essential.

Candidate Requirements:

Educated to degree level or equivalent in relevant field
Chartered Engineer or similar and participation in affiliated bodies for example Institute of Civil Engineering
Previous senior level involvement in the provision of design management services for civil engineering design and construction in the rail sector
Significant senior level involvement in large project tender teams including price and quality adjudicated bids
An understanding of commercial aspects including typical terms and conditions and procurement models
Experienced in the management, surveillance and audit of assurance regimes
Experience of managing design process in tender or contract environment
The Engineering Manager will have previous experience on multidiscipline civil engineering projects, ideally within the Rail sector.The role will pay a very attractive salary (up to £85,000) plus benefits.
