Job description
Who are we?
Thames Water is the UK's largest water and wastewater company. We make a daily difference to our 15 million customers by supplying 2.6 billion litres of water through 32,000 km's of pipes, to keep taps flowing and toilets flushing. We are an essential service and have operated throughout the Covid19 pandemic.
At Thames Water, every one of our actions, big and small, matters every day. Water is essential to daily life, and that means our business is always open.
What you will be doing
Our overarching plan is to provide our customers with a continuous supply of safe, clean and palatable drinking water, by focusing on our five key priorities: Our people, health & safety, water quality, risk & resilience, and efficiency.
You will be a technically competent person in water processes and assets and an expert at practical problem-solving.
As part of the East Thames Valley technical team, you will be working closely with the wider production team to troubleshoot and resolve complex site-based issues, identify options to mitigate risk, provide contingencies and support the delivery of solutions.
Key to the role is collaboration and stakeholder engagement, both within and outside of Water Production.
The role covers a large geographical area in East Thames Valley, so a willingness to move around day to day is essential.
This position will involve many different projects and involvement in many sites across East Thames valley. The successful candidate must enjoy fault findings and resolving problems as this role will involve looking after over 200 sites.
Day to day responsibilities:
This is a diverse and fast-paced role where no two days will be the same. It provides a fantastic opportunity to think differently about how we ensure reliability and resilience of our assets, whilst developing our people and driving a sustainable operating model.
You will gain a wealth of exposure to the wider business in the largest Water and Wastewater Company in the UK. You will work with leaders from across the business, contractors and colleagues alike, ensuring health and safety is at the forefront of our work. This is a perfect opportunity to further develop your leadership experience with real progression opportunities.
Our competitive salary package includes an excellent contributory pension, 26 days holiday per year increasing to 30 with the length of service and a wider benefits scheme.
We're proud of the positive ways of working we have adopted during the pandemic. We want to create a more flexible and dynamic environment so all our colleagues can thrive. For our office-based roles, we are moving to a hybrid approach where we will provide options around working from our offices, our operational sites and home dependent on role/team/individual. This will be discussed during the assessment process.
Thames Water is a unique, rewarding and diverse place to work. If you join our team, you'll enjoy fast-tracked career opportunities, flexible working arrangements and unparalleled benefits. We're also proud to be an equal opportunity employer, Stonewall Diversity Champion and Disability Confident Leader and we are a Times Top 50 Employer for Women.
