AWE are currently recruiting for a Senior ESH Manager to be based in Dijon, France.


This role is to support a joint UK/French Radiographic and Hydrodynamics facility located 45 minutes from Dijon in France. The UK Environment Safety & Health (ESH) Manager is one of the positions permanently based on the project in France and is responsible for developing and implementing an ESH Management System in conjunction with CEA (French organization).

Candidates must have minimum standard French language skills (A2 level). Further tuition can be provided.

Location - Dijon, France

Package - £55,000pa - £75,000pa + Relocation/Living away/Car allowance will also be available.

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensuring the area of deployment maintains a safe, secure and clean approach whilst enabling it to perform its required function to programme.

  • Providing strategic ESH advice and guidance to their customers.

  • Maintaining and promoting high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security and quality.

  • Ensuring the delivery of the relevant Functional Excellence Plan (FEP).

  • The Company may require you to fulfil any other reasonable duties aligned to your position from time to time in line with business needs.

  • Develop and implement an ESH Management System (in conjunction with CEA) that meets UK and Fr regulation and AWE and CEA standards where appropriate.

  • Interface with CEA ESH Manager on all aspects of ESH and ensure promulgation of best practice, lessons learned and cultural improvement.

To be successful in this role you should have the following skills/Experience/Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree or equivalent qualification and/or experience.

  • Membership of a recognised related professional body.

  • Training in key ISO standards.

  • Knowledge of ESH assessment methods, tools and frameworks.

  • Significant experience of process management and working in ESH management, implementing ESH management systems; including exposure to complex, large scale high hazard corporate organisations.

  • Experience of the ESH management system standards, culture and behaviour practices

  • Experience of reviewing and auditing process, programmes and projects

  • French language skills (A2 Level)
