Drainage Manager - Technical Support
M4 Corridor (remote role)
Permanent
£40,000 + car allowance and benefits
The Client
My client is a company that specialises in complete drainage services to corporate clients managing domestic and small commercial drainage failures. The company provides a quick and competitively priced response to their clients' needs whether it be a simple blockage, a drain collapse or a burst water pipe. Due to recent expansion, they currently have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Support Manager located in the South of England.
The Role
The role will be home based but will involve lots of travel around the South of England visiting and supporting the company's regional offices - covering up to 20 regional depots. There will also be regular monthly visits to the Head Office for team meetings etc.
* Maintain up to date knowledge and awareness of the technical operations carried out in all parts of the company, and by competitors
* Manage technical standards and best practice procedures to ensure compliance with H&S legislation
* Monitor compliance by audit
* Record and report deviations and initiate corrective action
* Evaluate the technical requirements and implications of business opportunities.
* Provide relevant training to the employees on the processes for major works.
* In conjunction with Regional Managers, carry out regular training needs review and formulate a training plan which supports delivery of the business plan
* Manage implementation of the plan
* Provide routine and ad hoc management information on a timely basis
The Requirements
* Hold a full driving license.
* Minimum of 15 years' experience in maintenance, survey and repair of drainages systems
* Business Management and technical consultancy experience in the field of drainage
* Excellent presentation, report writing and communication skills
* Ability to work well with a heavy workload
* Training qualifications and experience
* Be prepared to travel (car allowance and mileage paid)
* Flexible in approach with the expectation of being away from home office on average 2 to 3 nights a week (accommodation and meals paid)
* Good working knowledge of the MS office suite of software
* Strong people management skills
