Job Profile SummaryResponsible for supporting environmental regulatory compliance and the delivery of regulatory activities, including inspections and reporting, using basic technical capabilities to provide day-to-day operational support and advice on environmental permit compliance.
Job AdvertRole Synopsis
Rapidly growing its renewables business is core to bp's strategy - by 2030 bp aims to have developed around 50GW of net renewable generating capacity up from in 2020. To realise this growth bp has formed a partnership with Energie Baden-Württemberg AG (EnBW) to develop two offshore wind Projects in the Irish Sea awarded as part of the UK Round 4 offshore wind leasing process.

We are looking for a high calibre individual to join our expanding offshore wind consenting team to support this portfolio of Projects. The Consenting Advisor will work as part of a multi-disciplinary project team to secure consents for two Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects
Key Accountabilities

  • Support delivery of consenting strategy for projects including schedule, budget and resourcing activities to Development Consent Order (DCO) submission
  • Support identification of consenting risks and develop mitigation plans for key risks for design, construction, operation and decommissioning
  • Manage environmental and consenting consultants to deliver required outputs to support DCO process
  • Identify and obtain environmental consents required to support operational activities ( - surveys)
  • Support the delivery of surveys and studies required to support Environmental and Social Impact Assessments
  • Interface with key stakeholders (consulting bodies, statutory authorities and key consultees) to support pathway to DCO
  • Build relationships with Project team to ensure environmental and consenting requirements are embedded in Project design
  • Support development of Project HSE and Consenting Plans
Essential Experience & Job Requirements
  • Degree in Environmental related discipline, Engineering or Science or comparable experience.
  • 3-5 years previous experience in regulatory and permitting activities
  • Experience in environmental and social management
  • Confidence engaging external and internal stakeholders
  • Self-motivated, proactive, self-starter
