Job description

Successful and long-established organisation within the medical device and healthcare sector, specialising in maintaining, calibrating and repairing medical equipment are seeking a Field Service Engineer for the Biomedical sector to cover the M4 corridor/ Berkshire area.

Benefits: Basic up to £35k, Car allowance £5k, paid overtime at 1.25 during the week, Bonus, Healthcare plus pension.

The Role

The Field Service Engineer will be required to perform servicing, maintenance and repairs on a range of medical equipment, which may be carried out either in the field if required or returned "back to base" to the company's repair facility.

Main Accountabilities

1. Assess, service and repair a range of medical equipment in line with customer requirements.

2. Ensure that key performance indicators are met for customers, including repair turnaround times, reliability and PM completion.

3. Complete all service paperwork and documentation to the agreed standard.

4. Responsible for maintaining work area and test equipment in a safe, compliant and tidy manner.

5. Maintain compliance to all company standards and adhere to stated policies and procedures relating to Health & Safety and Quality Management.

6. Proactively seek to improve the process and service delivery provided by the company.

Any other activity as mutually agreed between the Field Service Engineer and Service Delivery Manager within the scope of their capabilities.

The Person

The successful candidate for the Field Service Engineer post will possess the following attributes:

1. Qualified to HNC or equivalent in Electrical/ Electronic Engineering.

2. Experience of working within the Medical Device sector, servicing, repairing and maintaining Medical Equipment.

3. A competent "hands on" service engineer with a "can do" attitude and the ability to problem solve effectively and efficiently. Ability to work unsupervised and use your own initiative.

4. Flexible and self-motivated with the ability to maintain and achieve service targets and deadlines.

5. A professional team player who is self-motivated and possesses excellent communication skills.

6. To proactively seek to improve the process and service delivery provided, working towards ISO9001 or ISO13485 QMS standards.
