PMO Manager. Birmingham (remote working). Permanent role. \u00A344,000-\u00A356,000 per annum.

Hays Technology are working with a large public sector organisation in Birmingham to recruit for a PMO Manager (remote working) on a permanent basis.

This is an exciting role in leading and supporting the IT & Digital service to become an agile digital delivery organisation - supporting the move to DDAT roles; introducing agile delivery methods and tools; and creating the mechanisms for managing work into and through the agile delivery lifecycle.

As the PMO Manager, you will develop and implement best practices to enable the successful delivery of a broad range of IT and business change projects to stakeholders across the business.

Operationally, the PMO manager provides and enables project prioritisation, management information, financial reporting, resource planning, decision making, and recruitment.

Main responsibilities

* Manage the PMO Centre of Excellence Team ensuring project management standards are appropriate, consistent and are based on best practice
* Ensure the outputs of the Team are insightful, continually add value and enable strategic and portfolio level decision making
* Ensure customers receive a consistent and quality PMO service that is appropriate and aligned to requirements.
* Manage performance for all team members.
* Ensure we have a fully functioning, efficient PMO Centre of Excellence team.
* Drive continuous improvement throughout the PMO function.
* Owning delivery framework and ensuring consistent use within projects.
* Understands the overriding risks that could impact the delivery of projects in Customer Delivery.
* Effective leadership to ensure an engaged and motivated team, who have the space to grow, develop and feel recognised for their contribution. Stretches team members to fulfil their potential enabling promotion to other roles.

What you'll need to succeed

* Proven experience of project management using AGILE or PRINCE2 methodology (or equivalent) for medium to large sized projects.
* Strong knowledge and experience of formal project management methodologies, reporting, project planning, and project financial and resource management.
* Experience in a PMO role \/ leading a PMO team evidenced coaching\/mentoring role.
* PRINCE 2 Practitioner
* P3O Practitioner
* Agile qualification
* Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) Foundation
* Degree qualified or equivalent experience
* Knowledge of SAP system.
* Intermediate MS Project and Visio knowledge.
