Job description

Time 4 Recruitment are recruiting for a temporary Clerk of Works to work on behalf of a global contractor who focus on Energy, Services and Facilities Management.

As Clerk of Works you will be required for 12 months in Cambridgeshire - looking after multiple sites on energy performance contracts - delivering Solar PV (Solar Thermal) ASHP ( Air Source Head Pump) GSHP ( Ground Source Head Pump) and LED ( Lighting ) Projects.

Whilst is it not essential that you have worked on Solar projects it IS vital that have you have come from an M&E back group.

As Clerk of Works your role will be to inspect the workmanship, quality and all safety of work on each site. You will oversee all subcontractors and report back to all senior management and the client on daily basis.

As a clerk of work your duties involves the following duties:

* Inspecting construction work and comparing it with drawings and specifications

* Measuring and quality checking building materials

* Carrying out site inductions

* RAMS reviews

* Reviewing CPP

* Ensuring programmes are followed and any deviation identified to PM

* Identifying defects and suggesting ways to correct them

* Monitoring progress and reporting to construction managers, architects and clients

* Keeping detailed records of work

* Referring to plans and taking photographs of work and putting them into a weekly report to be submitted to the PM.

* Liaising with contractors and PM

* Ensuring building regulations, health and safety legislation, legal and environmental requirements are met.

* Compliance with all the Bouygues IMS / QMS.

Skills required for this position:

* Knowledge of building and construction especially M & E

* Be thorough and pay attention to detail

* Analytical thinking skills and able to analyse quality

* Proficient in Microsoft office especially word and excel with the ability to create comprehensive reports.

* Conversant in H & S legislation

Qualifications required for this position:

* CSCS card or relevant trade safety scheme card (ideally black or gold)

* SMSTS

* First aid at work

* Asbestos awareness

* TWC or TWS ( prefered but not essential )

* Trade qualifications ( ideally M&E background )

* Fire marshal training
