YHA Cambridge are looking to increase their team and have a vacancy for a Night Duty Manager.We have recently increased the rate of pay on this vacancy to 11.56 per hour (includes London Living Allowance). Immediate starts are available. Other job opportunities are available at this hostel. The hours will be 35 per week. Hours are 10pm to 7.15am on a rota of 4 days on 4 days off.We are YHA.

Our night duty manager role covers different tasks, but the main duty is the safety and security of our guests and hostel during the night.

Our duty managers are responsible for supporting the management of an operational budget and delivery of KPIs, therefore, previous leadership experience and experience managing budgets is desired. Knowledge and understanding of the core purpose of YHA along with excellent communication and customer service skills are essential.

Proven experience of working within the hospitality industry and face to face customer experience would be advantageous, including the management and delivery of a quality service is essential. Food safety level 2 and APLH level 2 qualifications would be desirable but not essential. Experience working knowledge of managing varying pressures, including significant peaks in workload demands and experience of managing a team is essential.

What youll be doing:

Our duty managers provide support with a wide range of customer facing duties across the hostel, delivering an excellent service to all guests and visitors, giving them a great experience of YHA.

Your night will range from

  • carrying out cleaning and housekeeping duties
  • managing reception including reporting
  • serving food and drinks
  • preparing the breakfast

Our duty managers deputise for the Hostel/Deputy Manager, managing the hostels daily operation in their absence.
