Job description

Warehouse OperatorHuntsman have an opportunity for experienced Warehouse Operators to work with the Warehouse Team to focus on meeting customer targets and operational performance measures. The role will be based on our site in Duxford, with a 2-shift pattern, with both 1-year fixed term and permanent opportunities available.Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, you will work with the Warehouse team to deliver the required output in order to service the external and internal (Bulk and Packing) customers. You will also support the team to deliver sustainable improvements to efficiency, in addition to working towards a Zero harm objective.As the Warehouse Operator, you will:Ensure that day to day work is carried out in a safe manner and all near misses, incidents and accidents are reported / investigated. Fully contribute to the Site Behavioural Safety Programme by coaching peers to be safe and act as a role model at all times.Deliver the dispatch plan as set out by the Plant Transport coordinators and ensure that OTIF targets are metOffload and put away raw materials in a timely manner to maximise efficiency and minimise damage.Pick and deliver Raw materials / Packaging for Bulk Production and Packing so as to assist in meeting Schedule Adherence targets and ensure that Quality standards are maintained.Collect and put away finished product from Packing and Production to maintain an efficiency flow of material.Contribute towards an improved Pick and Put away strategy in order to reduce the times for both.Personally lead by example to sustain a 'World Class' approach to 5S and Warehouse organisation.Contribute to the Warehouse department cost saving programme by identifying cost saving opportunities and other areas for improvement.Carry out required cycle-counts in order for the department to meet it targets on pick-accuracy and minimise the risk of an issue in Production.Skills & Experience Required:Numeracy and Literacy and ideally GCSE equivalent in Maths and EnglishProven work experience in a Warehouse environment, ideally in the Chemical sectorIdeally knowledge of Warehouse Management systems (eg SAP)FLT License or the capacity to learnExcellent team worker, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.Flexibility in working dayshifts and overtime if required at times to support high levels of demand.About Huntsman:Huntsman Corporation is a publicly traded global manufacturer and marketer of differentiated and specialty chemicals with 2020 revenues of approximately $6 billion.
