We are looking to recruit a Relief Support Worker for our Service basaed in Woodston, Peterborough (Fox Grove).

Do you want to make a positive difference to people's lives?As a Relief Support Worker, flexibility is key for both yourself and for the Service, as you may be required to work a variety of different shifts. You will have the ability to work flexibly across the weekdays, weekends and bank holidays depending on your availability and the hours being offered to you. Shifts vary including mornings, afternoons, evenings, sleep ins and waking nights. Flexibility is therefore essential for us to be able to meet the needs of the people we support.

The role of a Relief Support Worker can be challenging at times, so it is essential to have a positive mind-set with a desire to improve the lives of those with a learning disability. You will need to be quick thinking with a positive can-do attitude.

Fox Grove is a 24/7 supported living service in Peterborough, supporting 3 ladies with all aspects of their daily lives from maintaining family contacts and going shopping, to personal care and moving and handling, and support with meals and eating safely.

Each individual has varying needs so you will need to be flexible in order to support them.You will also be supporting with day to day things like finances; household duties such as cleaning; and to prepare and cook healthy meals.

You will need to have:

- Good people skills

- Ability to work to deadlines and within a constantly changing environment

- Ability to complete paperwork.

- A willingness to participate in sleep-ins is highly desirable

It is importantthat you have a good sense of humour; are calm and approachable; but possess the ability to be assertive when the situation requires. Promoting a calm environment without worries or stress is very important to the individuals you will be supporting; as is routine.

As a Relief Support Worker you will be expected to provide an outstanding level of support that will enormously contribute to the people we support, living a more comfortable, dignified, liberated and happy life.

- Personal care - helping people to get ready for the day and assisting with bathing, showering and using the bathroom.

- Supporting people to live independently - budget management, paying bills, housework, organising appointments and cooking delicious healthy meals.

- Excellent communication skills/relationship building - supporting the person to understand the world around them and promoting positive relationships.

- Community & Social Inclusion- Supporting individuals to access and participate in their local community and Social events to promote life skills and individuality.
