We are looking to recruit a Relief Support Workers for our Service in Sawston (Churchfield Avenue).

You should have theabilityto work flexibly across week days, weekends and bank holidays depending on your availability and the hours being offered to you. Shifts vary including mornings, afternoons, evenings, sleep insand waking nights. Flexibility is essential for us to be able to meet the needs of the people we support.

You will be supporting nine individuals in one of our supported living services. They are five ladies and four gentlemen aged between 30-80 years of age.

What does a Relief Support Worker do?

As a Relief Support Worker you will be expected to provide an outstanding level of support that will enormously contribute to the people we support, living a more comfortable, dignified, liberated and happy life.

- Personal care - helping people to get ready for the day and assisting with bathing, showering and using the bathroom.

- Supporting people to live independently - budget management, paying bills, house work, organising appointments and cooking delicious healthy meals.

- Excellent communication skills/relationship building - supporting the person to understand the world around them and promoting positive relationships.

- Community & Social Inclusion- Supporting individuals to access and participate in their local community and Social events to promote life skills and individuality.

No two days will be the same and having a passion for communication would be a huge advantage. It is important that you are able to find creative ways to engage with the people you will be supporting to help remove barriers and empower the individual's to learn new skills.

Each individual has their own personality, hobbies and interests that they enjoy.They like to experience new things and will look to you to suggest innovative ideas.

You will be required to work with management to support and plan full weeks of activities for the people we support, so if you love being creative and have a good sense of humour, this role will be ideal for you!

It is essentialthat you are calm and approachable, but possess the ability to be assertive when the situation requires. It is imperative to the individuals you will be supporting that you enable them to challenge themselves to progress and achieve their own personal goals.
