12 month FTC opportunity for an experienced materials buyer within a successful manufacturing business.

Your new company
I am pleased to be working with a hugely successful manufacturing business based in Ellesmere Port to support them with the recruitment of a Buyer. This role is covering maternity leave, but is anticipated to last between 12-15 months in order to provide ample handover.

Your new role
As Buyer, you will be responsible for the procurement of raw materials and goods for resale within this manufacturing business. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to provide details and support with new tenders and commercial opportunities. In this role, you will build and maintain proactive relationships with suppliers and resolve any potential supplier related issues that may arise. As a Buyer, you will work closely with the Purchasing Manager day-to-day, but you will have full responsibility for the tendering activity of your own product portfolio so it's important that you keep up to date with current trends and data from the market. You will strive to deliver excellent value for money and you'll negotiate prices and commercial terms in order to achieve the most cost effective outcome, without compromising on the quality of goods.

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this role, it is essential that you have procurement experience gained within a manufacturing environment, ideally within a highly regulated setting. You will ideally be educated to degree level or have a strong procurement background and you will possess excellent communication and negotiation skills. This Buyer role also requires strong IT literacy, particularly within MS Excel.
