Our clients include international operators, engineering designers and public sector bodies. You will join a successful and expanding team that works not only in established major hazard industries (e.g. oil and gas, chemical), but also in the emerging industry of carbon capture. You will interact with key clients and work on projects at all stages of their lifecycle; from design, to operational facilities, to decommissioning. As your experience grows you will go on to lead projects, develop technical expertise and contribute to business development.
Wood is committed to the development of its staff and support is provided through mentoring and training. You will join a friendly team of consultants ranging from Consultant to Technical Director grades, all keen to share their experience and knowledge to support your career.
Key Responsibilities
- Working with external clients and Wood group companies to solve major hazard risk and process safety challenges to human life and the environment
- Developing technical expertise under the supervision of our senior team members
- Working with project managers to support business development and project delivery
Skills / Qualifications
You will be qualified, or on target for, a 2:1 degree level (or equivalent) in Chemical Engineering, Physics, Process Engineering, Chemistry, or similar. You will also have a keen interest in supporting major hazard sectors, including the energy transition, oil and gas, chemical and petrochemical industries.
For a successful career, you will be a self-starting, highly motivated individual who enjoys finding solutions to technical challenges. You will have the ability to communicate at all levels, working well both as a team and individually. Commitment to identifying, analysing and presenting solutions clearly and competently is a must. This highly diverse role also means that you must be organised, have attention to detail and be able to multi-task.
As you will be travelling on occasion to client offices, a clean UK driving license is highly desirable.
