Job description

E&I Maintenance Engineer

Our chemical client in Runcorn requires a plant based Electrical & instrument Maintenance and asset support engineer based for a long-term contract role in Runcorn. Candidates must be PAYE but the rate per hour is flexible.

Hours - 36.2 hours per week

Duration - 18 months

Working hours - 8.30am - 4.15pm

Hourly rate - Flexible rate (PAYE only not Ltd)

The role is to support the EI Asset/ maintenance Engineers by: -

Conduct troubleshooting and problem solving to a high standard with the aim to improve production operation, reduce costs, enhance quality and support planned change.

Lead investigations into significant EI issues on assets carrying out root cause analysis and problem solving.
Provide EI technical expertise to the various production and maintenance teams on the appointed assets.

Specify and arrange execution of scheduled and unscheduled E/I maintenance work to enable plants to produce at agreed production levels whilst still meeting SHE requirements.

Produce EI workscopes and methods then manage EI work during plant shutdowns and overhauls.
Ensure EI maintenance work is planned and executed such that it does not affect planned production from the plants and that it is within agreed budgets.
Clear communications with ECU production and maintenance teams to ensure that work is carried out in the most effective manner.
Accept responsibility for the successful completion of all EI work on the appointed assets.

Support the development of the E/I Core team so that it meets the needs of the business.

Provide technical guidance for the company's Electrical/ Instrument core maintenance team technicians on the various electrical and instrument technologies installed on the assets.
Contribute to the assessment of the competency of all EI personnel working on the Manufacturing Assets in line with the company's Senior EI Engineer's overall strategy.
Manage plant EI information systems to ensure retention of corporate memory.

Identify Electrical and Instrumentation improvements including the implementation of projects to realise these opportunities.

Continually evaluate the asset condition, implement and manage short and medium term strategies and contribute to area improvement plans.
Maintain a good understanding of the latest EI technologies and techniques within the industry where appropriate.

Review the failure reports from work orders and inspections to identify trends that could address safety issues.

Support the management and delivery of the agreed EI strategy for continued safe asset operation and maintenance for the ongoing operation of the assets.

Identify potential safety improvements and fixed/variable cost savings from EI improvement projects.
Provide project management of local EI projects to ensure compliance with standards, successful completion and minimum disruption to plant.
