Assistant Manager - Sale \/ Permanent \/ Social Housing

Your new role
Due to the introduction of a new voids standard for our properties, a vacancy has arisen for an Assistant Manager, who will be responsible for leading a small effective team of Trade staff delivering all aspects of Void works via the in-house team. The main roles and responsibilities for this role are to:

* Recruit the necessary trades to Introduce and deliver the New Enhanced Flexible Void Standard with the in-house team.
* Contribute to the development and delivery of the Corporate plan.
* Apply technical skills and knowledge, supporting and mentoring others as required to share professional expertise
* Supervisory responsibility for the Voids team and cover when required for the Plastering team
* Monitor and maintain quality of services within relevant area in line with external standards, regulatory requirements and agreed objectives
* Manage risks and compliance of the service area
* Develop strong internal working relationships to achieve a high performing team
* Use external organisations and best practice to benchmark and make service improvements
* Customer interactions are managed professionally, on time and to a high quality
* Manage all aspects of health and safety and wellbeing of all staff to meet policies and legislation
* Deliver and contribute to projects in the Property Services Business Plan
* Become fully aware of the Property Services promises & KPI's
* Being fully responsible and aware of health & safety risks within your area and reporting all accidents & near misses
* Assists with the Managing of the budget for the designated area of responsibility. Identifies areas of waste and recommends improvements
* Identify and co-ordinate development requirements within the team
* Manages the performance, quality and productivity of all team members, to ensure all service targets are met
* Management of staff leave and absences within the team
* Ensure all operatives have the required tools, materials, and equipment to carry out their role effectively
* Ensure that the service consistently achieves excellent customer satisfaction
* Monitor and report on performance levels of team and individual basis
* Has Excellent customer Service skills dealing with queries\/complaints\/issues through to resolution
* Available to join the managers duty call out rota

What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will have the following:

* Good communication skills and an ability to build strong working relationships
* Previous supervisory experience of either managing a team or sub-contractors
* Knowledge of specialist technical area and its practical application
* Detailed knowledge of repairs and related working systems, equipment
* Experience of managing Health & Safety and carrying out detailed risk assessments
* Ability to support and advise others using technical and professional expertise
* Excellent analytical skills
* Experience of working within a target-focused team environment
* Up to date and thorough knowledge and understanding of industry best practice, standard procedures and relevant legislative and regulatory requirements related to Property Services

A full, clean driving licence and access to a car is essential this role
