Your role is key to ensuring Stockport residents receive a first-class recycling and waste collection service to meet all waste collection schedules.We're looking for hard-working and flexible Class C drivers who are committed to working safely at all times to join the Totally Local Company's Recycling and Refuse Team. If you are a friendly team player with good time management and organisational skills - then you will be a perfect fit.What you will be doing in this roleYou'll complete the daily vehicle checks with the appropriate documentation, ensuring that any defects are reported and all accident & damage reports are fully completed. We're a safety-first company - so this is really important to us.You'll follow work instructions to undertake waste collection duties in a manner that ensures business customers receive a reliable, consistent and effective service.You'll complete all work allocated, including rectifying service failures and assisting other crews and teams as required to ensure that all the day's work for the service is fully completed.You'll help make Stockport clean and to minimise its impact on the environment primarily by driving the vehicles for recycling, garden, food and refuse collections.You'll undertake the collection and handling of general and bulky waste items and spillages as required.You'll contribute to the achievement of highest possible levels of waste minimisation and recycling.You'll report any matters as they arise regarding excessive waste production, potential abuses of the services by traders or others, contamination of materials and problems affecting the maintenance of a clean environment.You'll comply with all requirements relating to health, safety and welfare provisions and to report as appropriate equipment defects, working practices and any issues that may adversely impact on the health, safety or welfare of any person.You'll act as Charge Hand to the vehicle crew and also in the capacity of a Collection Operative as and when necessary.You'll drive, as required, any company vehicle that the post holder is authorised to drive.What are we looking forYou'll have significant HGV driving experience with a Class C driving licence.You'll be a team player, working effectively with crews and responsible for prioritising and allocating work.You'll use your own initiative and diligence to ensure compliance to all health and safety standards.You'll be willing to work flexibly in a changing environment to complete scheduled services and from any company depot as required.You'll act professionally at all times when in contact with the public and other customers.; you will be responsible for presenting a positive image of both TLC and our clients.Your Benefits24 days Annual Leave + 8 Bank Holidays.
