Radiology Support Worker

Working pattern: 37.5 Hours including evening and weekend shifts

Who Our Opportunity is for:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person with sincere interest in joining a dynamic and friendly radiology team.

You will be expected to work within a very diverse Radiology department, based across two sites, Countess of Chester and Ellesmere Port Hospitals, and learn a broad set of skills to assist radiographers, sonographers and radiologists in all areas of the department to ensure the efficient running of a very busy department.

You must be of a very caring disposition to support every patient within the radiology department to ensure they have the most rewarding experience whilst in our care.

Ensure patient confidentiality and dignity are preserved at all times.

Maintain an understanding of manual handling, infection control, Health and Safety and Fire regulations.

To carry out clerical and administrative duties within the department.

Ensure a neat appearance at all time, wearing appropriate staff uniform and protective clothing suitable to the task as per departmental policy.

You will be encouraged to attend staff meetings.

Be prepared to share extra working opportunities during evenings and weekend shifts.

What this Opportunity means:

You will be expected to work closely with radiographers, ultrasonographers, doctors and clerical staff. The role is both varied and interesting with a high level of direct patient contact. If you have a keen interest in health care the position of Radiology Support Worker shall offer a great opportunity to develop your skills and become part of a very professional and dynamic radiology team.

You will be contracted to work out of hours which will include both evenings and weekend hours across the two sites.

On appointment, you will be expected to complete a 1 day Trust induction followed by a three-month departmental induction to support your introduction to your new role which shall also, more broadly, assist you to settle into the department and the Countess of Chester NHS Trust.

The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust consists of a 600 bedded large district General Hospital, which provides its services on the Countess of Chester Health Park, and a 64 bedded Intermediate Care Service at Ellesmere Port Hospital. The Trust has almost 4,000 staff and provides a range of medical services to more than 445,000 patients per year from areas covering Western Cheshire, Ellesmere Port, Neston and North Wales.

If subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1975, then a disclosure submission will be made to the Disclosure & Barring service (formerly CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.

Enhanced DBS check applications that are submitted with omitted or incorrect information will be withdrawn. In the event errors are identified on your original application, a new application will need to be submitted and you will be required to pay the DBS application fee again.

The cost of the DBS application is £28 (standard) or £45 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first three months of employment.
