Apply nowDate: 01-Dec-2021Location: Warrington, Cheshire, GB, WA3 6YDCompany: BabcockJob Title: Chief Engineer - LeadLocation: FlexibleBusiness Unit: Cavendish NuclearREF: SF 40047Job PurposeProvide Governance across all Engineering and technical activities within a defined market sector, ensure technical capability and capacity meets the current and future operational and strategic demand.Develop people, processes and systems in support of the strategic direction of the Business market sector.Ensure application of highest standards for health and safety in immediate area of responsibility and ensure all team members across engineering co-operate with respect to company standards with regard to matters on health, safety and environment, ethics and behaviours.Act as the Design / Technical Authority, on Projects within a defined remit of sufficient scale and/or complexityEnsure the technical integrity and quality of products and services provided within the area of responsibility.Plan, lead and control engineering processes and activities to ensure delivery to agreed programme and budget.Foster links and maintain good working relationships within the technical teams Customer community, industry and the wider Babcock to enable effective use of Business capabilitySupport the identification and implementation of improved engineering business processes that enhance group capabilities.Take a lead role in the review, maintenance and upkeep of quality assurance documentation.Provide specialist engineering advice in area of technical or operational expertise & experience to the wider Babcock as necessary to maximise knowledge transfer and build operational capability.Knowledge, Skills and QualificationsChartered Engineer and Member of relevant InstituteEngineering degree or qualification in relevant engineering disciplineSubstantial demonstrable competence post degree / qualification covering a range of engineering and/or technical topics and demonstrable people leadership experienceWhat else do I need to know?All applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK and be subject to satisfactory security clearance which includes 3 years reference checks.
