Here at Cavendish Nuclear, we are recruiting for a Commercial Manager to the lead the commercial input into all major bids, whilst maintaining a balance between company risk vs. securing new business
Who we are looking for?
We are a seeking an experienced Commercial Manager who has the ability to not only deliver contracts, but also to shape and scope out major commercial agreements on EPC projects.
Ideally you will have experience in the nuclear sector, but this is by no means essential, and other desirable industries include Civil Engineering, Construction, Rail, Oil & Gas or similar.
However, NEC contract experience is essential for this role.
What will you be doing?
Undertake commercial lead role supporting all bids in specific business unit. Review, highlight and address any commercial risk areas within contracts.
Prepare commercial inputs to bids liaising with General Counsel for legal reviews.
Drafting / input to requisite bid governance papers and taking through internal governance any new opportunities / significant changes.
Manage Tender Approval Forms through internal governance as required within their delegated authority.
To prepare for and lead an opportunity through the governance process and gate and coloured reviews. This will require a working appreciation and knowledge of the Business Winning process.
This will require strong team and internal stakeholder management skills - as well as often-engaging external supply-chain/partners or other sectors of Babcock
To ensure application of LFE - in two respects. Firstly within context of the proposed solution and its development and secondly in recognising improvements to a bid that can be gained by on-boarding customer feedback from past relevant projects and bids.
Ensuring post-tender / pre-contract submission that clarifications and customer-facing requirements are suitably met and that business delivery has a suitable handover and transfer of ownership.
The experience you'll bring
Qualification in a related field, i.e. a BA/BSc degree or Quantity Surveyor qualification
Significant experience using the NEC suite of contract documents
Experience of Projects and preferably EPC Contracts working as Main Contractor / Tier 2
Knowledge of the end to end Business Winning process and management system (in particular the Gate 3 to Gate 5 phase)
Be prepared to travel when required - although mostly remote / Warrington based
You must be eligible to achieve the relevant security clearance
