This is where you come in

We have an exciting opportunity for a Process Excellence Delivery Specialist to join our small (but very influential) team of improvement experts at our Head Office in Warrington. This role to deliver and manage Process Excellence through United Utilities, following the Process Excellence Strategy. This core team delivers improvement projects, as well as upskilling and developing people throughout the whole of United Utilities.

The role is to lead and coach change, utilising key Business Process Management principles and Continuous Improvement tools to support delivery of our AMP7 requirements and obligations, and also helping United Utilities to engage and grow in an increasingly more digital world. The role works through the whole of the organisation from Senior Leaders to key Operational staff, utilising influencing skills and self-drive to challenge and change the current ways of working and embed a culture of Continuous Improvement.

What will you focus on?

  • Support the delivery of Digital Delivery & Process Excellence strategy to the strategy plan.
  • Developing the Process Excellence in United Utilities approach.
  • Deliver Process Excellence improvement projects to both the customer required measures and following the United Utilities Process Excellence process. Success will be based on quality, time &/or cost measures.
  • Supporting Digital Delivery & Process Excellence team in delivering a great customer service to United Utilities through collaboration with Digital Delivery Leads and engagement with key stakeholders.
  • Training, coaching and mentoring Process Excellence champions across United Utilities, both in the course of delivering joint improvement projects, and through 1:1 supporting activities.

What do you need?

  • Lean or six sigma accreditation to green belt level, and a minimum of 5 years' experience
  • Ability to adapt traditional lean and six sigma approaches to a utility's environment
  • Can evidence persistence, enthusiasm, self-confidence, self-awareness, and an ability to learn
  • Ability to communicate, motivate and influence at all levels, internally and externally
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to present analysis in a compelling way
  • Ability to manage multiple improvement projects simultaneously to ensure they meet the customer expectations
  • Ability to demonstrate a considerable degree of independence but recognise when to escalate
  • Degree level qualification in a scientific, numerate or technical discipline required
