Working with the European Procurement Manager with daily interactions with other CommScope sites globally (USA, UK, Czech Republic, India, China, Belgium) this is an outstanding opportunity for a senior professional to play a key part in our global procurement team.How You'll Help us Connect The WorldYou will be responsible for carrying out broad assignments involving the sourcing of important items, requiring extensive or specialized knowledge or experience. Managing the vendor base, identifying cost reduction opportunities, negotiating contracts, and contributing to the make vs. buy decision process. Working with site operations team to ensure that sourcing strategies are aligned with site requirements. You will develop both current and future sources of supply in support of the overall supply chain strategy negotiating contracts where losses occurring through errors in judgment would involve a large dollar amount. May supervise and provides work leadership and training to lower level team members.Required Qualifications for ConsiderationDegree in Accounting, Finance or Business or a Professional Purchasing Qualification.A minimum of five (5) years of procurement or relevant experience.Extensive knowledge of product line under area of procurement.Must have knowledge of all product lines and associated manufacturing processes under area of responsibility.Has experience of at least 5 major procurement categories/commodities.Experience in purchasing technical commodities requiring close interface with engineering.Successfully demonstrated negotiation skills.Well versed in cost/price analysis techniques.ERP experience (SAP preferred)You Will Excite Us If You Have Experience WithSources complex direct materials (e.g. Polymers, Tapes, Cable Components, Electronic Components) with suppliers that are capable of meeting the service, quality, NPI, environmental and cost requirements.Identifies categories for strategic sourcing agreements and conducts cost/price analysis for all products under their jurisdiction with emphasis on high dollar and sole source situations. Establish negotiation strategies.Work to identify opportunities for cost reductions in support of annual cost reduction objectives.Ensures that all sourcing is based on negotiated competitive bids as submitted by qualified suppliers and in alignment with Should Cost targets (where available).Maintains positive working relationship with supplier base and leads the regularly scheduled business reviews with suppliers. Continue to analyse and assess the adequacy of our supplier base for each category and to develop additional sources of supply where deemed advantageous.Conduct cost/price analysis for all products under jurisdiction. Analyse historical commodity trends and contribute to the development of projected commodity strategy.Where applicable supervise the activities of reporting Buyers.
