Job description

NES Fircroft in partnership with our client are currently seeking an Intermediate Electrical Engineer and a Senior/Lead Electrical Engineer with building services experience to join a productive team. The successful candidates will be working collaboratively with the wider team to deliver a steady pipeline of exciting nationally based projects.

These opportunities are available for candidates to work remotely from home or are willing to relocate to Perth. *Subject to border restrictions*

The Client is a multidisciplinary engineering design company with over 60 years' experience. They continue to complete and deliver an exciting and diverse portfolio of design projects Australia wide. These projects range from multi-high-rise buildings, childcare centres, aged care facilities, government, and NPI projects.

About the Role

As a member of the team, you will report to the Associate Director - Operations.

You will be expected to liaise with clients, architects, and other members of our internal team with confidence and clarity.

You will be committed to the development of high-quality and cost-efficient design solutions for our clients by having a solid understanding of electrical engineering principles, standards, codes and practical design experience.

Your responsibilities as an Electrical Engineer will include but not limited to:

Perform electrical services design from concept, feasibility study to detail design, contract documentation and construction documentation.
Perform electrical engineering detail design calculations such as Powercad, AGI32 and Dialux.
Produce Concepts and detailed designs in line and with client requirements.
Able to review and understand the project 3D model and architectural design drawings in relation to building services.
Deliver high quality technical design within scope, timeframe and budget.
Review vendor/manufacturer's documentation.
Provide technical support to the onsite construction team, projects department and estimating department.
Conducting value engineering (VE) exercises on projects.
Be familiar with and understand the relevant Australian Standards and Building Code of Australia/NCC.
Client liaison and management skills.
Manage projects including coordination with other services.
Client and external design team liaison.

Necessary Qualifications, Skills and Experience required for this role

To be considered for this role, you should be able to hold or demonstrate the following qualifications, skills and experience:

Minimum 4 years' experience in electrical engineering within building services and experience in coaching and mentoring a team - Senior/Lead Electrical Engineer.
Minimum 2 years' experience in electrical engineer within building services - Intermediate Electrical Engineer.
Must hold a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
CPEng, NER, and RPEQ certification will be highly regarded but not essential.
Highly developed proficiency in electrical building services engineering in line with the NCC and Australian Standards.
Working knowledge of drafting tools such as AutoCAD. Understanding of REVIT would be advantageous.
Strong project management and services coordination experience.
