Here at Cavendish Nuclear, we are currently recruiting for a Junior Cost Engineer to join our Specialist Services Cost Engineering team; working for our Environmental Laboratory located in Westlakes, Cumbria.
In this role, you will be responsible for the production of budgets & forecasts for the Laboratory, the management of costs and sales in our SAP system and the reporting of results to Management in a timely manner, under supervision primarily in non-complex situations.

Who are we looking for?
We are looking for an individual who is from a Finance background and someone who is able to communicate with stakeholders, budget holders and financial accountants on a regular basis. You can also be someone who's completed a degree, in a related field and you're looking for a position to begin your career in cost engineering, from another sector in the finance industry. You will also need to be skilled with Microsoft Excel, as much of your work and reports will depend on your competency of using Excel; alongside with how quickly you can produce the relevant work from it.

What will you be doing?
Your duties will include:
• Develop/implement and maintain the Laboratory Budget / Forecast, WBS, SAP sales orders and purchase requisitions.
• Management of the cash flow cycle, payment applications, raising sales invoices, resolving issues.
• Responsible for monitoring, controlling and the validation of Laboratory costs and sales.
• Responsible for providing information to support periodic accruals, prepayments and payments on account.
• Provision of financial performance & cost reports including variation analysis.

The experience you'll bring
• Good understanding of financial implications, which affect profit & loss accounts, balance sheet and cash.
• Highly experienced within Microsoft Excel.
• Experience applying budgeting & cost control.
• Awareness of contracting methodologies.
• Knowledge of cost management techniques.
• Experience within a propriety ERP system such as SAP.
