Services Officer Level 1 (Teller Role)
Newry
Temporary (10 weeks): 36.25 hours per week
£10 per hour
The Client: Our client is a local financial organisation who provide savings and loans facilities to all its members
The Role: To maintain an effective and efficient member services, to ensure they are offered the highest level of member service and to ensure they have the opportunity to avail of all products
Main Duties:
Identifying and dealing efficiently with member needs and enquiries
Receiving money from members and crediting member accounts and issuing receipts
Processing and paying out share withdrawals and issuing of receipts
Processing of SOL loans to members
Ensure the recording of cheques taken from members on a daily basis
Posting transactions onto the computer system properly
Actively promote sales of product range to members
Completion of end of day balances of all transactions
Effective telephone communication to members, management and staff
Any other duties such as filing, shredding, etc.,
Record and schedule loan payouts, loan interviews and appointments
Maintain office supplies, distribution on demand within the office
Completing end of day balances of all transactions
Processing and paying out share withdrawals and SOL Loans
Ensure quick lodgement envelopes are processed in a timely manner
Opening sub accounts for members
Dealing with members queries about their own accounts
Ensure all Financial, Operational Compliance and Risk procedures are adhered to.In addition to the specific duties and responsibilities outlined above, all employees should be aware of their own specific responsibility towards the following:

Manage and work productively as a team member with all staff within the department, and across other departments when required.

Maintaining confidentiality at all times and alerting your manger to any breaches of confidentiality
Attend and participate in team meetings and events
Uphold ethical and professional standards and not behave in a manner that may bring the organisation into disrepute
To observe and comply with all Human Resources, Financial, and Health & Safety policies and procedures
Essential Requirements:
A level qualification or equivalent
5 GCSE's including Maths and English Language or equivalent
Minimum 1 years experience in a Regulated Financial Institution
Ability to use Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Spreadsheets and Power Point and a willingness to train in additional IT skills as and when required
Ability to handle a wide range of activities and prioritise these effectively
Good organisational and time management skills
Accuracy and attention to detail and the ability to work to tight deadlines
Desirable Criteria
Recognized Financial Qualification i.e. QFA,
Credit Union Pathways Diploma,
Third level Qualification
