Job description

An excellent opportunity for an Experienced Fire & Security Engineer to join a well-established company based in Durham.

The Company:

They are a leading one-stop solution for fire safety within the North East of England. Since they were established in 2013, they have supplied fire safety solutions to high-street retailers, schools, colleges, universities and World Heritage Sites such as Durham Cathedral and historically important sites like Bamburgh Castle. Their directors have over 40 years working history within this industry and are certified members of the Fire Industry Association.

Due to rapid growth within the company, they are now looking for more Fire Alarm Engineers to join their team.

About the Role:

This position will require you to visit client premises to carry out the service, maintenance and installation of fire alarm systems but other duties may include security systems and access control. Experience in Security Systems, Emergency Lighting, Fire Extinguishers, Disabled Refuge and Call systems would be desirable.

Responsibilities:

* Install and commission fire and security systems.

* Planned maintenance of fire and security systems, including repairs, fault-finding and installation work.

* Completion of all necessary paperwork and ensure that an accurate and high standard of company documentation is maintained.

* Customer liaison and building solid working relationships.

* Carry out surveys on client premises.

* Undertake reactive calls for fault finding and the repair of faults and "On-Call" rota duties.

* Estimating using system software for minor follow on works.

* Experience in completing and Providing Fire Alarm System Certification for Customers.

Candidate Requirements:

* Minimum of 3 years fire alarm maintenance and small works experience.

* Experience in all aspects of the fire alarm industry will be required to included Design/Installation and Commission.

* Experience of working with Automatic Opening Smoke Vent Systems.

* Experience in servicing both open and managed protocol fire alarm systems.

* Certification in FIA for: Fire Detection and Alarm System Design, Fire Detection and Alarm System Installation and testing, Fire Detection & Alarm System Maintenance & Fire Detection and Alarm System Commissioning.

* Conversant with BAFE and SSAIB/NSI requirements.

* ECS/CSCS - good knowledge of H&S requirements.

* A positive security screening and clean disclosure report.

* Good communication skills, timekeeping and customer service focused.

* Sound electrical/electronic knowledge.

* Willingness to travel.

* A full, valid driving license.
